Early in my career as a yoga student, I attended a workshop with an accomplished teacher who made even the most difficult postures look effortless. At some point during the weekend, while talking about the importance of yoga in her life, she told me about meeting her future husband. When he asked her what was so great about yoga, she taught him shavasana, the corpse posture. Afterwards he said, “This is terrific. If this is what yoga is about, I want to do it.”
