Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is an energetic style characterized by breath synchronization movement from posture to posture.  This class will build cardio, strength & flexibility of the entire body and overall conditioning of the musculo-skeletal system. Breath synchronized movement relaxes the mind, releases stress to create a focused mind state.  A variety of sun salutations, standing, seated poses, backbending &  inversion postures are practiced and no two classes are ever alike. Some experience is recommended.

YIN YOGA

This slow-paced style of yoga focuses on deep stretching and meditation. Unlike more dynamic yoga practices like Vinyasa, Yin Yoga targets the body's connective tissues—ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks—rather than just the muscles. The practice involves holding passive poses for extended periods, typically two to five minutes or even longer.

Yin Yoga aims to improve flexibility and increase circulation in the joints while also promoting inner stillness and mindfulness. It is often seen as a complementary practice to more vigorous forms of yoga, helping to balance the body’s energy and calm the mind.

Yin Yoga poses are usually seated and held with little to no muscle engagement, allowing for a deep release of tension and a gentle yet effective stretch of the connective tissues. Props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks are often used to support the body, making it easier to relax fully into each posture.

Mentally and emotionally, Yin Yoga encourages introspection and mindfulness. The extended holds give practitioners time to explore their thoughts, sensations, and emotions, making it a meditative practice that cultivates a sense of peace and balance.
